First off, I believe in marriage between 1 man and 1 woman.
I also believe that Genesis gives a good idea of what God intended on marriage between each to be:

  • Equal companions (God took part of Adam’s “side” – not his foot that she should be under him and not his head that she should be above him, but his side that she should be equal, with him).
  • God brought Eve to Adam, Adam’s saying “bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh” was like wedding vows, also acknowledging the first point – he’s not over her like he is the animals.
  • God said (and Jesus later quoted) “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”
  • I also don’t believe in divorce.
